Ø       R. B. “Jerry” McGowen III was born in Monahans, Texas in 1950.

Ø       Texas A & M University (B.B.A.- Finance, 1972)

Ø       SMU Law School, (J.D., 1975).

Ø       He attained the rank of captain in the U. S. Army Reserves while practicing law in Pecos, Texas from 1976 to 1981.

Ø       While in Pecos he was President of the Pecos, Texas Chamber of Commerce, the Pecos Lions Club, the United Way of Pecos, and the Pecos Bar Association.

Ø       Began the practice of law in Pecos, Texas in 1976. Moved to Sherman in 1981 and currently maintains a general practice of law and provides mediation services in the North Texas area.

Ø       In Sherman Jerry has served as President or Chairman of the Sherman Chamber of Commerce, the Civil Service Commission of the City of Sherman, and the Sherman Noon Lions Club.

Ø       He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; U.S. District Courts of the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas

Ø       Member of the State Bar of Texas, Grayson County Bar Association and The Association of Mediators.
